Company Background

The Fisher and Paykel design centre was originally located in Mosgiel as part of the manufacturing plant.

Since 2009, after reorganisation of the company structure, the design centre has been located in the centre of Dunedin in the Wall Street Mall.

The Fisher and Paykel design centre is involved with a wide range of products including grills, cooktops, ovens, ranges, and dish washers.

Activity Type

Fisher and Paykel's Dunedin Design centre is responsible for design and development of cooking and dishwashing products for all of our brands and global markets. The brands we cover include Fisher and Paykel, Elba, Haier, Casarte and DCS. We design a wide range of products from large outdoor grills to inductions and gas cooktops, built in ovens, ranges and dishwashers, including the famous DishDrawer.

Our staff are mostly tertiary qualified engineers, designers and scientists. Currently we have about 150 staff and our facility covers approximately 4,500 square meters. Originally based in Mosgiel as part of our manufacturing facility, we have been based in the centre of Dunedin, above the Wall Street mall since 2009. We have many specialist facilities such as gas combustion testing, acoustic measurement, electrical safety testing and cooking and dishwashing performance testing. Our products have won many international design awards, and we have undergone significant growth in the last 2 years.
